A project board for people and their AI

One board for your team, agents included.

Lantern is a lightweight kanban board where Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini read, create and move tickets through the same API your team uses. Self-hosted, one container, yours to keep.

REST and MCP · Linked to Git · Free of seats and per-agent fees

Agents

Agents are teammates, with guardrails.

Anything a person can do on the board, an agent can do through REST or MCP. You decide how far each one is allowed to go.

  • The same API as the app

No second-class integration. The web UI, REST and MCP all call one service layer, so every feature reaches agents the day it ships.

  • Policies you control

Pick the boards an agent can touch, its rate limit and how many tickets it can change at once. Members, tokens and workflows stay human-only.

  • Everything is on the record

Every change an agent makes carries an AI marker in the activity log, and blocked requests show which rule stopped them.

How it works

From token to moving tickets in three steps.

  1. Connect an agent

Create a token, pick a policy preset and paste the MCP address into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

  2. Hand it the work

The agent reads the board, picks up tickets, comments as it goes and creates a branch when it is time to code.

  3. Watch the board move

Pull requests and merges move tickets forward on their own, and the people on the team see it all in one place.

Git

Tickets follow the code.

Create a branch from a ticket. Opening a pull request and merging it move the ticket for you, forward only and only where your workflow allows it.

For the whole team

Light on ceremony, ready for real work.

  • One workflow per board

Frontend, backend and design can each have their own stages. Start from a template and edit it later.

  • Features across boards

Group tickets from every board under one feature and see its progress at a glance.

  • Signed webhooks

Tell other tools when something changes. Deliveries are signed, retried on a schedule and logged.

  • Progress reports

Progress comes from workflow stages, so reports match the board without anyone updating a spreadsheet.

  • Calendar

Start and due dates on a calendar your team can filter by person, tag or feature.

  • A link for clients

Share a read-only dashboard without giving anyone an account. Switch it off or let it expire whenever you like.

Self-hosted

Small enough to run yourself.

One app and one database. Your data, your server, your login.

  • No seats, no per-agent fees. Add as many people as you need.
  • Sign in with your existing Forge Core account.
  • Deploys from a single Dockerfile, for example on Coolify.
  • Light and dark themes, and it works on a phone.

Questions

Good to know.

Which agents work with it?

Any tool that can speak MCP or call a REST API. It is designed around Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, and each agent gets its own token and policy.

Can an agent change settings?

No. Members, tokens, workflows and agent policies can only be changed by people. Agents work on tickets, comments, features and tags.

Do I need Git?

No. Git is optional. Connect GitHub when you want branches and pull requests to show up on tickets.

Can clients see the board?

They can open a read-only dashboard through a link you share. They see progress and the titles you choose to show, and never comments, assignees or code.

Where does my data live?

On your own server, in your own MongoDB database.
